I'm an asexual, agender, multi-racial, social anarchist who just wants to type their thoughts out loud. If you don't like what I have to say, go bitch about it on your own page. If you have questions about any of the adjectives I just used to describe myself, I am open to answer any question, rude, stupid, or otherwise, but none of my identities are open to debate. Again, if you don't like it, Go blog about it to other people who like to complain.

From a 1965 Interview

  • Question: What contribution can youth, especially students, who are disgusted with racism in this society, make to the black struggle for freedom?
  • Malcolm X: Whites who are sincere don't accomplish anything by joining Negro organizations and making them integrated. Whites who are sincere should organize among themselves and figure out some strategy to break down prejudice that exists in white communities. This is where they can function more intelligently and more effectively, in the white community itself, and this has never been done.

Dear Cis People:
Most of us are not passing-centric, at least not voluntarily. Passing is something we do to conform to your rules so you don’t spot us, disrespect us, insult us, harass us, attack us and kill us. As we live by your rules, though, most of you willing to engage in any of the actions mentioned above still usually pass for “normal people”.

Ze said unto Hir people ‘You do not have to celebrate those who use your proper Words and recognize the validity of your existence. You do not have to be grateful for them. No more than you are grateful for and celebrate the Stranger you passed the other day because they did not punch you in the face simply because you were there. These are the behaviors of Basically Decent People. They are a starting point. Not a special goal to be achieved.’

If you accidentally misgender someone

artoftransliness:

littlegaykid:

Do:

-apologize quickly once

-correct yourself

Don’t:

-apologize profusely

-ramble on about how you’re actually really accepting

-keep apologizing

-tell them about your trans* best friend who you’re so very supportive of

-apologize some more

-talk about how you never do this

-apologize even more

Misgendering someone can be awkward for both parties, it’s typically best to just apologize quickly and move on.
